Exceptional Care with Advanced Technology

As dental technology advances, treatment becomes more comfortable and more efficient. At Norman J. Pomerance D.D.S. we’re happy to provide patients with exceptional care using some of today’s most advanced tools. Whether we’re using those tools for early detection or for easing anxiety, you can expect good things from a visit to our dental office located in Denton, TX.

Digital X-Rays

To accurately diagnosis your needs, we need to have the clearest possible picture of your smile. That’s why we rely on digital x-rays. The detailed images we take allow us to offer more personalized care, because we can see more of your smile. What’s more, digital radiography is safer as it exposes patients to far less radiation than traditional radiography. We can also display your results immediately, without needing to develop anything.

Panoramic Radiographs

A panoramic x-ray gives us a comprehensive picture of your oral health by showing us things that can’t be seen with just a basic visual exam. Dr. Pomerance will use your x-ray to assess your situation and recommend a specific treatment plan built around your personal needs.

Cavity Detection

Because of how common tooth decay is, we want to treat it as soon as possible. Our cavity detection tool allows us to do just that. During your checkups we’ll use it to reveal decay before it’s visible with the naked eye. By treating cavities at such an early stage, we can preserve your oral health and protect your smile.

Early Cancer Detection

We take the same approach with oral cancer as we take with tooth decay—we want to diagnose and treat it as early as possible. The Trimira Ultra 3000 is a special tool that highlights irregularities so they can easily be assessed and taken care of. By treating oral cancer before it reaches an advanced stage of development, we can increase the patient’s chances of making a full recovery.

Laser Dentistry

With the advent of laser dentistry, treating gum disease has become a far less invasive matter. That’s because a dental laser provides more targeted treatment without the need for a scalpel or stitches. If you struggle with any of the symptoms of gum disease, let Dr. Pomerance talk to you about what’s possible with this amazing, modern tool.

Nitrous Oxide

For patients who struggle with mild anxiety, nitrous oxide can take the stress out of going to the dentist. Also known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide is breathed in through a mask and takes effect quickly. It also wears off quickly so you can get back to your day as soon as you leave our office.

Oral Conscious Sedation

For patients who struggle with a more intense form of anxiety, Dr. Pomerance offers oral conscious sedation. This form of sedation dentistry uses a safe medication to create a sense of peace in patients who normally feel uncomfortable during dental appointments. But unlike nitrous oxide, it takes time to wear off. If you’re going to use oral conscious sedation, you’ll need to have a friend or family member drive you to and from your appointment.
